Not very good. The Court is currently comprised of three Republicans and four Democrats. Generally speaking, Republicans usually favor tort reform and Democrats are usually against it. There is a strong possibility that one of the Democrats...

Q: Students take note of this:Sotomayor, and her colleague justices upheld the a high school's right to punish a student for OFF- CAMPUS speech. With the reasoning that schools have an obligation to impart to their students "shared values," which include not only the importance of free expression but a "proper respect for authority".Where is the "free expression" when the student was punished for expressing herself? When do high schools have a right to control your speech when not on there grounds? Please also note that that ruling was directly in conflict of the Supreme Court's 1969 Tinker decision, which held that students do not "shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate," Gun owners:Sotomayor ruled in January 2009 that states do not have to obey the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment command that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. In Maloney v. Cuomo, Sotomayor signed an opinion of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that said the Second Amendment does not protect individuals from having their right to keep and bear arms restricted by state governments.WOW, she thinks that States do NOT have to follow the U.S. Constitution. They they can infringe upon your Constitutional rights. That means that NONE of the rights granted you in the U.S. Constitution would be safe if Sotomayor is elected to the Supreme Court. Please note: in the US Supreme Court 2008 case of Heller v. District of Columbia, the high court said that the right to keep and bear arms was a natural right of all Americans and that the Second Amendment guaranteed that right to everyone.Sotomayor also apparently thinks that a Latina woman would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male. Also stating that this was based on experience. Court ruling are based on LAW not experience. It is my "experience" that "bad experience" can cause a person to have biases toward certain individuals. Do we really want a person on the US Supreme Court that uses her experiences (and possible biases) in place of LAW ?So lets see:She doesn't support the 1st AmendmentShe doesn't support the 2nd AmendmentSHE DOESN'T SUPPORT THE U.S. CONSTITUTION She thinks she can make better decisions than a white man, AND she also has stated that she is a affirmative action baby who had low college entrance scores and most likely took the place of a more qualified individual. And since then has more than likely also due to affirmative action received appointment to various courts, taking the place of more qualified individuals and now claim "experience". YET, SHE STILL HAS BAD GRADES AND HAS HAD HER RULING REVERSE 60% OF THE TIME ON APPEAL !!!!!!!!!!!!Dick Durbin - Democrat Senator from Illinois thinks she represents the thinking of main stream America. What are your thoughts, do you think Sotomayor represents main stream America?Note: regarding the ABA approval of Sotomayer="That's like reporting the Teamsters unanimously support a Hoffa. The ABA is nothing but a litigation union."Want more:"The US Supreme Court recently ruled that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.New Haven was wrong to scrap a promotion exam because no African-Americans and only two Hispanic firefighters were likely to be made lieutenants or captains based on the results, the court said Monday in a 5-4 decision. The city said that it had acted to avoid a lawsuit from minorities. The ruling could alter employment practices nationwide, potentially limiting the circumstances in which employers can be held liable for decisions when there is no evidence of intentional discrimination against minorities."(Associated Press)
A: Sotomayor will make an outstanding justice. Why don't you cite some decision she actually wrote, instead of a decision that she "signed on with other judges"? Could it be you're just nit-picking to prove some point? And the ABA just gave her the highest "grade" they can bestow on a judge, so obviously the legal community thinks quite highly of her. I tend to think they know more about the application of the law than you do (no offense intended).
