What the difference in Civil Law and Law?

Q: Im a junior in High School currently taking a 2 year Criminal Justice program. When I graduate I want to attend Air Force ROTC for four years. I want to get a degree in Criminal Justice. But my question is, is whats the difference between Criminal Justice, Law, Civil Law, Public Safety and Law Enforcement? I though they was all the same but looking at some colleges they each have a major. So if someone could please explain this to me and be serious and mature about it. It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks(:

A: Criminal Justice is just what it sounds like - things you need to know to work in the criminal justice system. Law will be overall law - like pre- law if you want to go on to become a lawyer. It will include civil and criminal law.Civil Law is pretty much anything that isn't criminal - like contracts, accident claims, landlord tenant.... It will also go into things like cops getting sued for civil rights violations, but that's only a tiny part of over all civil law.Public Safety and Law enforcement will include things like disaster preparedness, safeguarding water supplies, disease prevention, and general law enforcement.
