What does CRT STROKES/HOUR mean? Haven't found a straight answer yet...?
Q: I'm applying for a job at Michael's and there's a Special Skills section, including a box for "CRT STROKES/HOUR", right next to the "TYPING/WPM" box. I know that wpm is words per minute, and I know what mine is (did typing tests online), but I'm not sure what crt strokes/hour means. I tried some research, including on this site, but I haven't found a definite-definite answer yet. People have said different things, and the only thing that I thought was closest was how many correct keys you can type per hour (if that's the case, how do I find that out? Are there online tests for that, too?). I thought about asking someone at the store, but I'm afraid they might think me incompetent and not hire me. :( So I hope someone here will be able to answer my question for me. Thanks!
A: It doesn't matter. I work at michaels (as a custom framer for the last 5 1/2 years) and don't have the slightest idea. Trust me, you won't be doing any typing other than putting requests for days off on the computer. Well, I do type things into the framing computer, but they couldn't care less if I even spell right. Just write N/A in the box, they won't even look at it. The most important part is your availability (the more the better), and they prefer if you know something about crafts, but will still hire you even if you know nothing. I had never heard of custom picture framing before I worked there. The hard part is passing the Orion test at interview time. A multiple choice questionaire that determines how likely you are to steal or do drugs at work, because most people just don't think before filling it out.
