What are the top two NPHC's fraternities based on their community involvement and their business connections?

Q: I am considering joining one of these Frats. I have done over 3 years of my own investigating by way of attending local events, founders day banquets and working out with a number of different frat members. I have came to the conclusion that they all are similar in one way or another. They all have prominet members it's just not A Phi A. They all have some ties to the community it's just not Q Psi Phi. They all are professional it's just not K A Psi. And they all mentor the youth it's just not Blue Phi. So for a person that has no greeks in my family, what do you base your choice on???? The size of membership?? The local prominet members???The colors look better on me?? I mean the list could go on and on. I do not lean one way or the other but would just like to hear what others have to say about these different faternities???

A: Hi there,There are many ways to determined which fraternity is best for you. For starters, I would visit their national websites. This is a great start to find out their purpose, motto's, what they stand for ect.. I would also research and observe what each fraternity is doing on your campus. Which one stands out the best for you? You should NEVER base your decision on the size of membership, colors they wear, who wins the most step-shows, etc... I say this because none of this will matter once you leave school and you want to choose an organization that you will feel PROUD to represent even after you graduate from college. Instead, which one stands out the most to you? Does the most for the community? Received the most awards for the highest GPA, the most community service, etc...Most schools have an informal "informational" where it gives the students a chance to visit each table and/or booth and ask questions, get pamphlets, and learn about each organization. My last choice is choose wisely. Membership in these organization is a lifetime commitment, so you want to make sure you certain with your choice. Let me also suggest purchasing "Divine Nine" by Lawrence C. Ross. This is an EXCELLENT read, and it goes in great details about the entire NPHC family.Good luck in your quest, and I hope I was able to help
