Why does this country still use two systems of measurement ?

Q: This country is still using customary and metric systems. I very seldom see the metric system really being used. It is time to switch to one system only.School students are having to spend time learning both systems, resulting in a lot of time on things like "1 inch = 2 1/2 cm" or "about how many grams are in a pound?" I don't care which system (the metric system seems simpler since it is based on units of 10), but dealing with two systems is crazy.
