I have just been caught shoplifting at Primark . . . I'm afraid of what's next.?

Q: I have taken a pair of sunglasses, put them in my bag, PAID for the jacket i wanted to buy, and walked out. Feeling good and thinking i got away with it, i started to walk down the street. Before i even gone 5 feet away from the shop entance, someone tapped me on my shoulders and notified me who they were . . . The shop security guard. I recognised him immediately because i went past him a couple of times while on the process of removing tags off the sunglasses. He looked just like any other shopper! So there i was frozen in the spot, sh*ttin' myself. I told him if we can take this inside, and they took me to this room where they told me to drop my bag and empty my pockets and bag. I took both the sunglasses i lifted and handed it to the guy, then one of the guards walked up to me and searched me thouroughly, feeling every pockets and going through my bag. The dude told me to go upstairs where they will take personal information off me and take a photo for store preferences or something. I was calm and played it cool as need be in these situations cuz hey, the game's up. After taking my details and photos, they told me that i was banned from the shop and any other Primak shop for how long, they did not say. Then they told me that there may be a letter coming through the post. I asked them if they would inform my parents about the incident and they replied saying that im 18 and over and lucky.Otherwise i would've had to wait in the shop security room till my parents come in . . . I asked them whether the police would knock at my door and they said it depends on how busy they were, obviously that did not answer my question rather clearly. After all that, i got escorted by the guard out of the door . . .If you're gonna judge me of my stupid ass mistake and is wanting to know why i did it then save your breath.I did it because . . . i dunno. out of curioisty of what'll happen and what it feels like . . i know stupid right? i did not have the intention of stealing when i got in the shop . . . i just wondered what it was like, and what dya know. begginers luck i get caught the first time i did it. don't get me wrong its not like im gonna do it again. Cuz im telling you this was enough wake wake up call for me!I'm just waondering what my rights are, what will happen next . . .will the police actually come into my house?? Will a letter be sent to my household? and if im gonna have to go to a court or somethin' . . .and if this will go to my criminal record . . I have definitely learned my lesson, and also found out what it was like. i was just really stupid for doing it and really unlucky for getting caught. It is my first offence ever......stupid things in life :(

A: You say that you did it out of curiosity of what'll happen and what it feels like, it seems that you will be finding out. Why spoil the experience by asking someone to tell you the end?You will do best if you accept whatever punishment happens to you and admit what you did. You committed a crime! That's what happens. Know that regardless of whether someone comes to your house, they should have, because that is why we have laws. Its a hard teaching but its true.I'm glad that you've decided not to do this ever again. Consider yourself fortunate that you did get caught, because if you didn't you might have committed the crime again and again and ended up in really big trouble.
