A: Do retake the Philosophy exam, and also drop it for your A levels. Do your A levels in your strong subjects. If you can get A, A, A or higher on your A levels, Oxbridge is a possibility. Why do you think that middle class people row boats? You crack me up. In the US, people think that all Brits are posh, boat rowing oarsmen who wear straw hats and drink tea. Doesn't make it so. Oxbridge has been making a real effort to admit students who didn't go to Eaton, who aren't middle class, and etc. If your grades are strong enough, you absolutely stand a chance there. Once you're there, no one will care if you grew up in council flats or in Buckingham Palace - the important thing is that you're at Cambridge, not that you came from inner city London or the like. If your grades are on track for A, A, A or higher at A level, apply to Oxbridge. Why not? What's the worst that can happen? That you don't get in? At least you'll have tried. You should *also* apply elsewhere, of course, but why not at least try, if it's what you want?
