My baby is 6 months and she not taking enough milk. Can i switch current formula to another?

Q: My baby is taking 15 to 20 ounces per day. I think it's not enough to my 6th month baby.currently i am using Enfamil lipil. Now i want to swith to Similac. can i use both formulas to my baby or only one and how to introduce new formula.Your opinions are appreciated.

A: My daughter didn't start drinking more than 16 oz a day until she was 10 mo. I always thought something was wrong but she wasn't losing weight and she always appeared to have enough energy, she started crawling at 5 mo. and still wanted the same amount. Now as a toddler, she still eats very little and I try not to let it concern me. She is a normal height and weight for her age. I even took her to the hospital to get a swollow study done because I was afraid that she wasn't able to drink. Just not so. She just has never been a big eater. She started solids at 5 mo. and wouldn't eat more than a few bites of cereal. She wouldn't even eat a whole jar of stage 2 until she was 1.Talk to your doctor. If the weight and development is fine, I wouldn't worry. The only reason I can think of to swich formulas would be because of excess gas or irritability. We tried the lipil, the only thing I can remember about that was my daughter wouldn't even look at it. Out of all the formulas it was the stinkiest, and worst tasteing. That might be part of it.
